Chapter 1750: Full-level Boss Dressed As a Peasant Girl
Chapter 1750: It is Qi Lie
Inspector Yin, stood guard at the city gate. When he saw their group approaching, he hurriedly greeted them, "Miss Lu."
"Has General Huang's men arrived?"
"Not yet."
Shu Yu thought for a moment and decided to go up the city wall.
Looking down from above, the view was much broader. Shu Yu gazed into the distance, only able to see the bare trees of winter.
It seemed they had to wait a little longer. Shu Yu took the stool handed to her by Ying Xi and sat leaning against the city wall.
Seeing that Shu Yu was guarding here, Inspector Yin left with his men. He was currently very busy.
Shu Yu had woken up early in the morning, and now basking in the warm sun, she was feeling a bit sleepy. Just as she was about to close her eyes and rest for a while, someone next to her shouted, "They're here!"
Shu Yu swiftly stood up and looked in the direction pointed out by the person. Indeed, she saw a row of figures appearing in the distance.
Squinting her eyes, Shu Yu couldn't see clearly from this distance. She wasn't sure if these were General Huang's men. So she raised her hand and told the others, "Be prepared."
The soldiers and guards stationed at the city gate immediately tightened their grip on their weapons and nervously stared in the direction outside the city.
As the approaching group got closer, Shu Yu also made out the figure leading them. Her eyes lit up, and she hurriedly climbed down from the city wall.
"Open the gate."
Lu Wu asked anxiously, "Miss Lu, are you sure these are General Huang's men?"
Shu Yu nodded, "Yes, I'm sure. I recognize the person leading them."
Lu Wu was relieved, and the soldiers next to him slowly opened the city gate to welcome the incoming group.
Before long, the group drew near, and the person at the front, riding on a horse, galloped ahead.
"Miss Lu, long time no see." The person on the horse exuded confidence and dismounted with a smile.
Shu Yu said, "Lord Qi, didn't expect it to be you. Come in quickly."
Qi Lie nodded in acknowledgment of Shu Yu and signaled his group to enter the city gate. Once inside, he noticed rows of weapons placed nearby. He was pleasantly surprised and went over to touch them.
"When General Huang mentioned it, I found it hard to believe. I didn't expect these weapons to be so new and numerous." Even though he had been undercover in the black market for a while, he genuinely had no idea about this stash of weapons hidden in a secret room.
Qi Lie found a sword he liked, tested it out, and was very satisfied. He naturally hung the sword at his waist.
Shu Yu's expression seemed to say, "Is it okay to be so openly obvious?"
Qi Lie turned to meet her complex gaze and promptly cleared his throat, saying, "Miss Lu, please don't misunderstand. You know that I went to the black market before. I couldn't carry weapons with me. I left the sword I usually carry in the capital. Given the current crisis, having a suitable weapon in hand is important to me. I'll explain it to General Huang later."
Shu Yu chuckled softly; she didn't say anything more.
Qi Lie also smiled at her before turning to his men who had followed, "Everyone, get ready. Sort out the items, we'll be leaving soon."
"Yes."
His group of soldiers was excited too, mimicking Qi Lie's actions. If they found weapons within reach, they would collect them and report later.
Shu Yu shook her head and curiously asked Qi Lie, "Has Lord Qi already returned to General Huang's side? How is the situation outside?"
Bringing up the serious matter made Qi Lie's expression much graver, though a hint of an uncontrollable smile still appeared in his eyes. "Speaking of this, I have to thank you."
